FCA has won Gold at The Drum Roses Awards which aims to celebrate outstanding creative achievements outside of London.
Working with a small creative agency, Conteur, FCA created an advert in one of the ‘TV/Cinema Commercial’ categories to highlight the impact that fostering can have on children and young people, and ultimately encourage more people to come forward and foster.
Managing Director John Platt is delighted with the win. He said: “The aim of the advert is to put fostering on the map as an incredibly fulfilling career choice across the country. It’s such an amazing achievement to know that not only are we managing to showcase the life-changing work that FCA foster parents do to the local community, but that we are being recognised for our outputs on a national level too.”
John continued: “There is a shortage of foster parents nationwide, and we hope that by sharing content like this to our local community we will see more brilliant people come forward to join the fostering community.”
The award-winning short film shows a family and their children, and plays on the double meaning of the word ‘foster’ - you can watch the advert here.
FCA were up against tough competition for this year’s awards, with BBC Sport and Cowshed also in the running.
Gillian Davies heads up the video team at Conteur, she said: “As a team, to have our work recognised by prestigious bodies like The Drum means everything to us. What’s more though, is working with companies like FCA, who are so passionate about looking after the country’s most vulnerable children and young people, is an absolute joy. We are so proud that we could work on this project together, and that the agency is getting the recognition that it deserves.”
There are more than 80,000 children currently in the foster care system throughout the UK, and this number is only set to increase over the coming years.
