Join us for Foster Care Fortnight
This week marks the return of Foster Care Fortnight, The Fostering Network's annual campaign aimed at raising awareness about fostering. This year's theme is Fostering Moments.
Throughout the fortnight, we will be encouraging people within the fostering community to share the moments that have been significant to them. For foster parents this might be when they were approved or the moment a young person in their care hugged them for the first time. We want to emphasise that every moment holds importance in fostering.
Every year, there is a growing need for more foster families across the UK to provide a safe and loving home to vulnerable young people. With a national shortage of foster parents, we are urging more people to consider whether they can open their hearts and homes to welcome a child in need.
Fostering Moments
Whether you’re a foster parent, a social worker, a young person, or a supporter of foster care, you are part of a community that is making a real difference in the lives of young people, and here at FCA we want you all to get involved in this year’s Foster Care Fortnight celebration.
We have offices and fostering teams across the UK, and since 1994, we have been committed to providing exceptional support for our foster parents. We organise regular events to bring our fostering community together, whether through support groups or social gatherings for all the family to enjoy and create happy memories. There’s always something happening and there’s always someone you can talk to because when you foster with us you are never alone.
Providing a home for a child or young person is one of the most rewarding decisions you will ever make. That’s why it’s so important to hear from those who have experienced it and to hear about all the joy they get from helping a child thrive.
