Here at FCA our slogan is, ‘The difference which lasts a lifetime.’ This is because we recognise the life-changing magic of fostering, and how a loving foster family can change a child’s prospects and set them on a path to towards becoming a healthy, happy and independent adult.
For the past 30 years we’ve been living by those words, working hard each and every day to match children with loving, dedicated foster parents and ensuring that our FCA families are supported in everything they do.
30 years of achieving together
FCA began as a small Midlands-based agency in 1994, set up by a social worker and a foster parent who saw the need for a people-focused approach to fostering. Since then, we’ve grown into one of the most highly regarded independent fostering agencies in the UK, serving all four nations with dedication and pride.
Although we’ve expanded over the years to help more and more children to find safe and loving family homes, our core philosophy has remained to same: to put children first in all we do, and to ensure that every member of the FCA family is looked after and knows how valued they are.
Strengthening our community
Here at FCA, everything we do, we do together. No one gets left behind, and we’re always finding new ways to uplift one another to grow and achieve for the benefit of the children in our care.
We know that it takes a village to support a child, and as an FCA foster parent you will we welcomed into a huge community of professionals who will support you and your children on every step of your journey. Whether it be through our excellent training opportunities or our wrap-around support, we make sure that you’re never anxious or alone.
“It’s a lovely little blended family where we’re just all together,” says Jo, our Support Service Team Manager, as she reflects on what it’s like to be a part of the FCA family. ‘We’re a community, a family. You’re not the only one. We’re all around you, we’re holding you. We’re there for you.”
Celebrating together
Relationships at FCA go far beyond just a professional setting. We love spending time together as one big family, with children, foster parents and staff all coming together. Whether it be getting together each year for a wonderful day of music and memories at ‘The Big Sing Off,’ our amazing choir competition, or taking part in our brand new ‘Going the extra mile together’ fundraising event, we’re always finding new ways of getting everyone involved.
We host plenty of other amazing community events during the year such as Foster Parent Appreciation days and family fun days where the whole community can come together to build new relationships and have fun. Everyone is welcome, including our foster parent’s own children or grandchildren and staff family members. These events are just one way in which we say a huge thank you to everyone and ensure that everyone involved with the work we do feels truly embraced by the FCA community.

We’re so pleased to be able to celebrate this milestone with everyone in our community, and we hope you’ll all be with us for future milestones to come. We asked our Senior Administrator, Kiran, what FCA’s goals are moving forward into the future. She said:
We want to continue to recruit more good quality foster parents who are going to support our children and provide them with the loving and caring home which every child deserves!
