Amy has been in a fostering family for just over 10 years, she tells us about her experience.
“Fostering changed my whole life, but it was honestly for the best. It has made me a better person and instilled in me so many values and skills that I can be proud of and memories that are priceless. By embracing changes and challenges with open-arms, it is has taught me so much, to become less selfish and sheltered and a more understanding, compassionate and empathetic person.
It set me off on a path where I lived in South Africa for a year volunteering full time, I got into university with no A levels, and it’s gave me a placement opportunity with FCA which has been so eye-opening. It is one of the most rewarding and challenging things I have done, and I cannot imagine life now without it."
