We know fostering is one of the most varied, challenging and rewarding jobs you can do, it really can transform your life as well as the lives of children and young people in your care. Each year approximately 30,000 children come into care which is why we need more foster families to provide a safe and loving home.
To start your fostering journey you don’t need fostering experience but patience, resilience, determination and a sense of humour will help. We’ll provide you with all the support you’ll need to make a real difference to a child’s life. Plus you must:
- Be over 21 years old
- Have a spare bedroom
- Have the legal right to work in the UK
With the summer holidays well under way and much of the UK experiencing a heatwave many of our fostering families have been busy making happy and fun memories with the children in their care. From holidays, craft and movie days to fun days out by the seaside, we caught up foster parent Andrea who has been fostering with FCA for four and a half years and foster parent Nicola , who has been fostering with FCA for 21 years as they share their favourite Summer memories.
