South Western Team presents: FCA Fest. Registered Manager Naomi Pollard tells us all about the fantastic event.
‘We had the most amazing day at our first FCA Fest here in the South West, the weather was perfect and we had so many foster parents and children visit us during the day.’
‘We had a cake stall and a raffle and raised a fantastic £300 for Baby Basics a charity that we support here in the region. Baby Basics provide moses baskets filled with essential items for babies and their parents who come to live with us. It was lovely to be able to give something back to them so they can help out other parents who need their support.’
‘The raffle prizes were excellent and I hope the lucky winners enjoy their trip to the panto, day out at Flambards, short break to West Bay (thanks to Meg and Jim) and a day at Exeter Chiefs.’
‘The coconut shy and limbo competition were a hit as was the ice cream van! We ate 190 ice creams and all of the hog roast. The children (and some adults) had their faces painted and enjoyed making crafts with Emma and Josh and seeing their bee puppets.’
‘It was so lovely to see the children having fun together and foster parents getting to know each other, I found it quite an emotional day seeing all the care and support that was in the air. I am so proud of all of our foster parents and it was a privilege to spend fun time with you all.’
‘We have had some lovely feedback from foster parents who attended, I am really pleased you all enjoyed it.
The children loved the day especially limbo! And coconut shy . Ice cream and sweetie stall was a massive success!
The children were able to see and meet other looked after children so they didn’t feel alone.
It was great to see the other children’s as a foster parent as we only see each other so seeing our children really set a feeling of one big family ‘ well done such a fun day.
We just wanted to thank you and the FCA team for the great day on Saturday, all the kids (and adults) seemed to be having a great time. Well done to you all.
None of it would have been possible without Bec’s hard work and the team helping out on the day – thank you to all of you that made the day possible.
See you again next year!
