Foster parents finalists in prestigious award
This year, foster parents from FCA Midlands, FCA South East and FCA Yorks and Lincs have been named finalists in the prestigious National Children and Young People Awards, under the foster carer category. This award recognises a foster carer who, in the judges’ view, has shown unwavering commitment and perseverance, even in the most challenging circumstances, in order to make a difference to the child in their care. It seeks to acknowledge and celebrate the selfless dedication that foster carers show when putting the child at the heart of everything. Advocacy and going above and beyond to make a positive difference are also key criteria.
The awards celebrate excellence across all areas of care and support in children, young people and family services, whether it be care homes, local authorities, fostering and adoption services or the voluntary sectors. From frontline staff such as key workers and care managers to people who have made an impact in other ways through child protection, supporting care leavers and inspirational young carers.
Overall, the awards showcase outstanding care, recognise innovation and best practices, and pay tribute to individuals and organizations committed to providing high-quality care for children, young people, and families.
The winner will be announced at a gala dinner and ceremony at the ICC, Birmingham on the 24th October 2024.
